The MAHS Theatre Department said goodbye to the 2023 Theatre Class including Hannah Cegla and Makarian Schott. Congrats and best wishes to both of you! But behold everybody, the Tiger Summer Theatre Program is Here! The Summer Theatre program provides opportunities for students in Morris Area Schools to participate in and observe theatrical experiences. The students will learn that there are many different pathways to develop a skill. This program will help students develop reasoning and creative thinking, as well as motivation, concentration and teamwork. The program will help teach students self-reliance and collaboration with others in order to reach a goal. This program will be at NO COST to Morris Area Students! The program is currently open to students in ages 10-21 in the Morris Area Schools, Chokio-Alberta or St. Mary’s School. The 2023 summer program will consist of two productions!
One being Twacked: Once upon a time… Talking frogs? A falling sky? A town full of confused folk? What is really happening and who can answer these questions? The librarian? The coach? The Mayor and town council? The sweet and smart-thinking Rachel? With song, dance, and a fast moving script, Thwacked! unfolds to reveal these and many other delightful characters as they attempt to unravel the mystery in a fairytale world.
Another production being The Spongebob Musical: SpongeBob and all of Bikini Bottom face the total annihilation of their undersea world. Chaos erupts. Lives hang in the balance. And just when all hope seems lost, a most unexpected hero rises up and takes center stage. The power of optimism really can save the world!
Rehearsals vary depending on the production. Twacked will be the Junior Troupe. Ages 10-14. Rehearsals for Twacked will be June 6-21, 2023. Mondays-Thursdays from 2-4pm. This show will be on June 22 & 23 at 6:00pm.
The Spongebob Musical will be the Senior Troupe. Ages 14-20. Rehearsals for The Spongebob Musical will be June 6-28, 2023. Mondays-Thursdays from 4-6pm. This show will be on June 29 & 30 at 6:00pm.
