The Morris area gymnastics team has been doing well! There was a varsity meet in Moorhead, MN, on Jan. 15 2022. The team scored 124.75 overall and there were a lot of personal bests set. Callie Snell got 1st place on vault, 4th for bars, 5th for floor and tied for 3rd in all around. Julia Gillespie got 1st on bars and set a new personal best with a score of 7.9. Harmony Coverdale set a personal record on bars, beam, vault, floor and all around. Tasha Koehl placed 3rd on beam with a new personal best of 8.4. Kaylin Steen placed 2nd on bars, 4th on beam, 2nd in all around and set a personal best in all these categories. Faith Butterfass placed 5th in all around. Haley Price Set a personal best on bars, beam and floor.
Coach Jodi Snell states,“With the weather throwing a wrench in our practice schedule and the girls going back to back with meets, they really rose to the occasion and pushed through aches, pains, nerves and exhaustion. I often say how proud I am of these ladies but they really impressed me with their ability to overcome all of the obstacles thrown at them and come out as strong as they did!”
The team had a fundraiser to help buy new leotards and to try to open a year round facility. If you are interested in helping the cause you can donate on the Morris Area Gymnastics Association Go Fund Me page.
