Welcome back once more to Homecoming Week here at MAHS. This year Homecoming week took place September 20th-24th. The dress-up theme for Monday was Jersey day, everyone got to rock their favorite team’s jersey that day. Now, let’s acknowledge how amazing the 9th grade boys did while performing their “I’m a Little Teapot” dance/singing tradition on Monday night’s coronation. All of the candidates and representatives looked gorgeous and spectacular! Each grade, excluding the senior candidates, had 2 female representatives escorted by 2 male representatives. Each grade votes on whom they want for representatives. The Representatives are as follows: (Freshman) Sadie Kohler escorted by Montgomery Minnick, Isabel Guerra escorted by Alex Sperr. (Sophomores) Piper Swanson was escorted by Owen Anderson, Ruby Swenson was escorted by Derek Waldbeser. (Juniors) Tatum Libbesmeier was escorted by Lewis Nohl, Sydney Logeais was escorted by Trevor Buss. The Senior candidates for homecoming Queen: Meredith Carrington, Corrie Erdahl, Brienna Dybdahl, Sydney Dietz, and Abbigail Athey. The Senior candidates for Homecoming King: Jackson Loge, Monte Fehr, Brett Hanson, Toby Gonnerman, Cole Wente.
The dress-up theme for Tuesday was Dress Like Your Parent/Guardian Day.
Both of our Volleyball and Tennis Teams played Minnewaska. The Tennis final was MACA/WC
A 1 Waska 6. The Volleyball final MACA 3 Waska 0. The Volleyball game’s theme was ‘Adam Sandler’. Pep Band was back for their first time since Covid at Tuesday night’s volleyball game. A big thank you to Ms.Wanda Dagen and her band for playing that night.
Moving on to Wednesday, the dress-up theme was Color day. Each grade had an opportunity to dress as its own designated color: 7th was green, 8th was yellow, 9th was red, 10th was blue, 11th was pink, and 12th was black. On Wednesday night the girls had their Football Powder Puff game. Seniors took the win against the Juniors with a score of Seniors 34 and Juniors 0. They have now become rare back-to-back champions. Thankfully no injuries or chaotic incidents happened this year.
Proceeding to Thursday the dress-up day was Camouflage. Everyone was able to wear their hunting clothes on this day. MACA Volleyball played once more against Paynesville and lost 3 to 0. While the Tennis Final against Melrose was MACA/WCA 5 Melrose 2. Go Tigers!
Now on Friday, the dress-up theme was Spirit day. Students and staff were able to dress in the most fashionable clothes out there containing Orange and Black! 2021 Pep Fest took place at Big Cat Stadium. Pep Fest was such a blast, we got to see the exciting egg toss game between staff faculty and our students. To go with that we saw each Candidate and Representative again, they of course looked spectacular as always. Following the Pep Fest, the Parade was awesome. Mr.Ekren seemed to be having lots of fun while throwing out shirts to all of us. MACA Football played Melrose on Friday night. Their theme for the game was ‘Orange Out’! The football game final for Friday was MACA 41 and Melrose 13. And that’s a wrap for Homecoming week!
