The Nutcracker is a classic story-telling ballet. Most people know the whimsical story of Clara and the journey she takes through her imagination. This year, Footnotes Studio of Dance is putting on this fantastic show at the Old Number One, South Side, on December 13th through 15th. In this show, you will see Clara’s adventures with the Nutcracker through the art of ballet. Dancers at the studio, performing this show range from ages 6 to 17. The show includes about 60 dancers in a ballet technique focused class. Mike Odello makes a guest appearance in the show, showing his dance dad spirit. This show is interactive and draws you in. Dancers had to go through an audition process for lead roles. The highlighted cast and roles include Anastasia Fluegel as Clara, Andelys berberi as the Nutcracker, Kendal Fischer as the Snow Queen, Ava Lanoue as the Sugar Plum Fairy, Jennie Odello as the Mouse Queen, Jaynie Lesmeister as Fritz, Adelyn Ferrian as the Harlequin Doll, and Lauren Conroy as the Columbine Doll.
